COOKING IN UMBRIA offer week-long cooking holidays and vacations in one of Italy’s most beautiful, ancient and unspoilt regions.

Cooking in Umbria has put together what in their opinion is the epitome of what is expected of a cooking holiday in Italy:

Ingredients:

- Excellent accommodation in a three star family run hotel. Hotel Villa San Donnino built in the 18th century has an historic past. It was once used as a summer retreat for cardinals from Rome and has been run by the same family since it’s conversion into a hotel in 1980. - The cooking tutor, Claudio Covelli, is passionate about sharing his 30 years of experience cooking authentic Italian food and makes the classes a lot of fun – click here for more details

Lessons take place in Claudio’s beautiful home, whichis within 20 minutes walking distanceto the hotel along the brow of a hill with views of valleys either side (mini-bus transport available for those who don’t want to walk) – click here for more details

Simple recipes using local mostly organic produce . You will learn how to make pasta , gnocci and bread which are the basics of any Italian menu. You will learn to make sauces for the pasta, main dishes, vegetables and delicious deserts – click here for more details.

You will make your lunch with the group in the morning and then sit together on Claudio’s very attractive terrace to eat what you have prepared togetherwith a good local wine.The afternoon can be spent around the hotel. Evening meals are taken in the hotel or in restaurants.

We welcome non-cooking guests as the hotel is extremely comfortable. We also run Painting courses to enable friends/partners to come on the holiday together, do separate activities and then join together in the afternoon for the excursions and evening meals – click here for more details.

Best of all everything is included in the cost. There will be no unexpected extras. About the Company

H&G ITALY LTD is a small family business owned by Eddy and Sheila de Vries. From the moment you make contact with their office you will be treated like a welcome guest and looked after personally.

Eddy and Sheila will be in Italy throughout the summer, along with the painting and cooking tutors, to ensure this level of service is continued.
